The emphasis on high competitiveness in the Airline sector driving Manufacturers to continuously improve their products and introduce cutting-edge technology highlights the dynamic nature of the aerospace industry. This scenario presents a significant opportunity for Universities & Engineering Colleges to play a vital role in supporting the Industry's needs by providing skilled and knowledgeable professionals.

TEC has started the B. E. Aeronautical Engineering, a 4-year UG programme from the Academic Year 2005 in order to cater to the growing needs in Aeronautical Engineering Industries. This course is approved by AICTE and is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai.

The B.E., Aeronautical Engineering Programme envisaged will have its accent on the Research and Development aspects of Aerospace activities in our country and abroad. Equal stress is laid on the three broad areas namely, Airplane Structures, Aerodynamics and Aerospace Propulsion. Field trips / visits to Aeronautical and space establishments, Internships and Industry Oriented Project Work etc have been planned as part of the curriculum. The Syllabus content pertains to the R&D Training of students as defined by the Anna University.

Training in special areas such as Computational Fluid Dynamics, Finite Element Methods and use of specialized analysis software are also included. A separate building for Aeronautical Engineering Department has been constructed comprising Aerodynamics, Aircraft Structures and Propulsion laboratories, classrooms, staff rooms and hangar space for Airplanes and Jet Engines. The Department has well qualified Faculty from various Top Universities across the country.
