The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) was established in the year 1998. The Department is well equipped with the state of the art facilities for academics and to focus on research and development activities and consultancy. In the department, well qualified members of the faculty are involved in providing quality education to the students. The department is an approved Research Center with Anna University and offers high quality research in Ph.D programme. A large number of Ph.D scholars are currently pursuing research in cutting edge technologies in the department. The laboratories are equipped with state-of-the-art equipments and support facilities to pursue research in the domains of Wireless communication, antennas, Image processing, networking, VLSI and power electronics. Several faculty members and students are actively engaged in research and regularly publish their work in international journals and conferences.
Various professional societies are very active in the department through which forum for the students to exhibit skills, share the knowledge and update themselves on the emerging trends in engineering and technology is provided.
The department aims to become an eminent center of excellence for providing in-depth knowledge in the domain of electronics and communication to the students and paving a path for them to become industry ready professionals.
The Value added courses are designed to enhance students' knowledge, skills, and employability by providing practical and specialized expertise in a specific area. These courses have been chosen after analyzing work profiles and job descriptions of various job roles in the field of Chip designing, Telecommunication field, IT companies etc, where the students become an industry ready professionals. Students have to opt at least one course out of given courses during the day of Induction.
