Know more about our mission to transform the Indian education system and where it all started.
Tagore Engineering College established its Women Empowerment Cell (WE Cell) in 2002 to ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive campus environment for female students. The Cell focuses on raising awareness about health, psychological well-being, gender equality, and women's rights. Over the years, it has played a vital role in empowering female students by addressing their concerns and providing them with the tools to face challenges confidently. Regular counselling sessions and awareness programs have been key initiatives in fostering a culture of independence and self-assurance.
The college offers various support systems, including a Grievance Cell, Women Empowerment Cell, Disciplinary Committee, and personalized psychological counselling for both staff and students. To enhance safety, the college has implemented measures such as appointing female security personnel, installing sanitary napkin vending machines, CCTV surveillance, improved campus lighting, and assigning female faculty members as in-charges for all college buses.
The WE Cell remains highly active in organizing programs that address contemporary issues such as mental health, personal counselling, hygiene, women’s safety, sexual harassment, women’s rights, and yoga, reflecting the evolving needs and concerns of modern society.
