The Battery Testing Laboratory at Tagore Engineering College collaborates with TAFE Industry Chennai and is equipped with state-of-the-art technologies and R&D facilities in energy storage applications. Specializing in R&D for Li-ion batteries and other emerging energy storage systems, the lab is capable of testing secondary cells and batteries of various chemistries (Lead-acid, Nickel-Cadmium, and Lithium-Ion) according to national and international standards.
The lab features Life Cycle Testers that can independently test up to 36 batteries simultaneously and supports parallel testing of multiple channels for higher current testing. Additionally, it includes a programmable conditioning chamber for testing batteries under different temperature conditions. The laboratory is also equipped with a battery bank tester capable of testing two battery banks up to 450 V at once, specifically for Electric Vehicle applications.
